The air is getting noticeably chillier here in the D.C area, making it harder to leave the coat behind. Lately, I have been reaching for my Barbour jacket to make it through the cooler mornings. This jacket is on the pricier side, but I believe that there are somethings that you need to splurge on—good outerwear is one of them (along with the occasional handbag haha). Pro-tip: I purchased this Barbour jacket during the Tuckernuck Friends and Family sale. Watching for splurge items to go on sale is one of the way I build up my collection of good quality items without completely destroying my budget.
Not only is this coat gorgeous with its corduroy collar and plaid cuffs, it is also fleeced lined to provide extra warmth. In addition, it has hand-warmer pockets that I did not want to vacate during this particularly cold day (can you tell from the way I’m clenching my hands in the second picture?).
My favorite part? The monogram of course! Let’s just say if there is an option to monogram, then I will definitely take them up on it.
Also, can we talk about this sweater? I could not resist buying it when I saw the perfectly placed bow. I recommend sizing down. I wore this outfit the other day with the sweater tucked into a black J. Crew Factory Sidewalk Skirt in place of the jeans with a pearl headband and I felt like I was giving off major Blair Waldorf vibes (who doesn’t look to Queen B for the occasional style inspo?).
I’m prepping for the cold weather with bows, monograms, and a good coat. How are you transitioning from fall to winter?
