April is going to be rough. Not only am I starting up a new semester in my Master’s program, but I will also be faced with increased work demands that will monopolize multiple weekends. Fortunately, I am sure that this month’s bucket list will help keep a bit of fun in my life!
Here is how I am finding balance in April:
Easter Tradition
This Easter marks the 7th year in a row that I have spent Easter with my bestie and her family. It all started off as an invitation to freshman year me because I couldn’t go home to spend it with my own family. Each year it has grown and I can’t wait to make more memories together.
HAMILTON!
I’m heading to Chicago this month for a conference and I am not throwing away my shot (sing it with me!) to finally see Hamilton!!! It’s only been my obsession the past 1.5 years and I am BEYOND excited.
Finish Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies (in order)
After taking my brother to see the Black Panther, I made it my mission to watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in the “correct” chronological order before the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Using this website as a guide, I chugged through the list of 18 movies throughout the month of March. With just 4 movies remaining to start the month, I hope to finish it so that my little brother and I can enjoy the new movie together. Besides how awesome the superhero movies are, most of my motivation to take on this task was seeing how excited my brother was to explain all the connections and theories behind the movies and the location of the Infinity Stones. It’s been a great bonding experience that I don’t want to end!
Visit a Farmer’s Market
Now that the weather is getting warmer (in theory), I want to take a visit to a farmer’s market. There is nothing like seeing all of the stands of fresh produce, flowers, and other treats!
Research Ways to Reduce Food Waste
Earth day is this month and it got me thinking about some of the habits that I can change to reduce my carbon footprint. One habit that I am not really proud of is my tendency to waste food. The biggest culprit is fresh produce that I can’t seem to eat before it goes bad. This month, I want to dedicate some time to learn about ways that I can reduce my personal food waste.
Try a “No-Heat” Hairstyle
I go back and forth between wanting to keep my hair and it is, and trying more natural hairstyles. Currently, I am intrigued by the thought of how my air-dried hair might look with proper product usage. The bright side is, if I don’t like it, I can always start over!
Morning Ab Workouts (5 Days a Week)
This challenge was inspired by a friend. She told me that she had started completing 7-minute ab workouts to start off her weekday mornings. As a rule, she would not leave her bedroom without completing it and she described how accomplished she felt for the day. I decided to get it a try too, 5 days a week. Incorporating this into my routine seems like a good way to get my blood flowing in the morning!
Chicago Food Quest
My dream situation would be to travel the world, Man vs. Food style, taking on food challenges and tasting all the best cuisines that world has to offer (without having to suffer any health consequences, haha). Until then, I’ll settle for hunting for unique and delicious dishes from the cities that I visit. Since I will be in Chicago this month, I will be on the hunt for some good eats! I would love to hear your recommendations!
I’m in for a busy month, but I hope that this bucket list will help me keep the balance in my life. How do you plan on finding balance this month?

I love it 😉
