Happy Fall, Ya’ll! Today is the first official full day of fall (though I have been fully engaging in fall shenanigans since the first day of September). Did you know that because of the equinox fall officially began at 9:54 last night!? See, reading blog posts can be educational 😉
The beginning of a new season ALWAYS makes me want to shop. This year, I found some great items that I couldn’t keep to myself! I promise you’ll love them too <3
One of my favorite trends of the season is the textured skirt. Leather, suede, wool, tweed…I love them all!
1. This gorgeous faux leather button tab skirt from Loft is currently on sale for 40% off! Not only is it a beautiful color, but I was also so pleased with the fit; my thighs could actually breathe! I would recommend sizing up if you are on the curvier side like I am!
2. I came for the cute Fall pattern and stayed for the amazing fit! Equipped with an elastic waistband and ruffle detail, this J. Crew Factory Houndstooth flounce mini skirt can do no wrong!
I did not need another pair of booties this season, but when I saw that Jack Rodgers was having a sale on a cute scalloped pair a couple of weeks ago, I scooped them up! Pictured is a similar option.
With the weather in flux, the season calls for dresses that are a little less summery in color, but still light enough for the midday temps. These two dresses stood up to the test.
4. I actually wore this dress to a winery yesterday and no one could believe me when I told them that it was from Old Navy! The midi-dress is almost a satin texture with a fit and color that would be perfect for any fall activity!
5. This dress (on sale!) was a last-minute try-on, and I am so glad I did!! Its light-weight and contains a hidden zipper that allows for a fitted look without the discomfort! It was also a great work to night dress. Friday I wore it to work, then to a birthday dinner with some black booties!
Also Eyeing: I also tried on this striped dress which is another great option for work.
There are few things better than being able to throw on a sweatshirt and still look put together. J. Crew Factory had a similar version to this last winter that I absolutely loved! I knew I had to grab another! This navy blue sweatshirt with blue striped ruffled collar and cuffs gives off the illusion of layers without the bulk.
Vests are one of my favorite outwear choices for fall. Consequently, I have collected quite a few over the years. Pictured is the J. Crew Excursion vest that they are bound to bring back again this year. Until then, here is a similar puffer option.
I lucked out and got the J. Crew Factory City Coat on mega sale! (I shared the sale in my Instagram stories, so don’t forget to follow me there too!). The coat is still on sale and comes in a variety of colors. I actually wanted the same coat last year and learned that the longer you wait to grab it, the more expensive it becomes (even when it goes on sale!). Though I love the classic look of the heather mushroom, I also love the coat in deep emerald and sparkling sea!
This year I am also very intrigued by the plaid blazer, but I haven’t found one in the fit, style, or price point that I want (I’m also not sure if I can pull the look off haha). I am also still on the hunt for the perfect flannel/plaid shirt. If you have any that you absolutely love, help a sista out and let me know in the comments!
