Hey Ambitious Fam! If you are reading this, I am finally enjoying some down time after being in the office for 11 days straight! Here’s to a three day weekend! I joked and complained about how tough this past work stretch has been, but honestly, I am blessed to be in the position. I am fortunate to be able to work with skilled subject matter experts to create a product that ultimately protects the public ( ← peek into my 9-5). In addition, I am grateful to be able to share my passion for wellness and life with you all and the readers at the Positivity Charge. But let’s be honest, I am also thrilled to take a second to recharge and get back to my regular schedule.
Here are five things that gave me all the feels this week:
Instagram Outage of 2019
Congrats people! We successfully survived the longest platform outage in memory. If you somehow missed it, Facebook and its affiliated platforms (i.e Instagram and WhatsApp) experienced some technical difficulties that lasted a majority of the day. The outage did not affect every aspect of the apps, leaving many to think that it was just their account or device that was the issue. Luckily, Twitter was there to confirm the outage and gave the social media starved a place to hang.
Wrap Dresses
I told myself that I wasn’t going to buy a new dress for graduation…but I fold myself poking around the internet anyway. I found the cutest wrap dresses on J. Crew and J. Crew Factory! It was a tough decision, but I decided that I couldn’t pass the day without purchasing the two dresses above. I love how classic the navy dress is (and the bow feature of course!). The light blue dress immediately caught my eye because it has all of the feminine frills that I enjoy. Both of the dresses should be here before the weekend ends and I can’t wait to try them on!
Spring is in the air…and so are allergies
Seeing the first pink blooms this week brought me so much joy. The weather also cooperated, covering the blossoming landscape with blankets of warm sunshine. It seems like everyone was a bit happier this week. As pretty as things looked, the arrival of spring definitely triggered a storm of allergies. I can’t tell you how many times I have sneezed in the last few days. Do you think that stopped me from spending time outside? Absolutely not. Time to pump the antihistamines so that I can ditch the tissues.
Bel-Air
I heard whispers about a modern-day Fresh Prince of Bel Air video on Twitter, but it wasn’t until my little brother mentioned that I decided to look it up. Woah. This trailer totally looks like something that would lead to a great movie. It’s definitely a social commentary that is a bit darker than the upbeat tempo theme song from the classic 90s show. Totally wouldn’t be opposed if it became a thing. Check out the trailer here.
Billy’s Donuts

Another Twitter mention makes the list! This one was just too heartwarming not to share. Last week Billy tweeted out “My dad is sad cause no is coming to his new donut shop” through his dad’s shop account (@BillysDonuts). The tweet went VIRAL. People soon learned that Billy’s dad named his shop after his son (awwwww!) and the outpour of support flooded the Houston shop. The family began to have a hard time keeping inventory in stock and sold out completely on several occasions! They were even featured on news broadcasts! I love when twitter uses its powers for good.
