October is definitely one of my favorite months of the year! There is always a flurry of activity, whether it be surrounding fall mania, Homecomings, or Halloween. I’m looking forward to sweater weather, crisp air, and all of the other excitement that accompanies this month.
Here is how I am finding balance this October:
Last 90 Days
It’s that time of year again! Time to finish this decade with as much intention and dedication as people tend to start a new year! I am so excited to be completing this challenge again this year, and this time, I have some friends joining me! Last year, I found the Last 90 Days to be instrumental in helping me create some healthier habits that I have carried on into 2019. It’s not too late to sign up (here)! I will be sharing my progress on the blog of course.
No Shop October
For the last few months, I have been adding items to my bucket lists that have to do with sustainable fashion choices. This month I am joining my friends, Caitlin of Lemonade Press Blog and Taylor of Living Taylored for a fun No Shop October Challenge. Why? There are many reasons. As bloggers, it is easy to caught up in the feeling that we need to have the newest, trendiest closet to get likes. This challenge is serving as a reminder that we are worth more than the outfit we wear once for the ‘gram or the influencer event. In addition, there is a large sustainability aspect of the challenge for me. This is another way for me to combat the urge to participate in fast fashion traps. Lastly, we are doing this to be more appreciative of the pieces that we already do have. We have lots of exciting plans to share our favorite fall outfits, style challenges, and to get you all involved. Make sure to follow along with Caitlin, Taylor, and I as we take on the challenge on Instagram!
Pumpkin Patch
One of my favorite fall traditions is taking my little brother to a pumpkin patch. It’s one of the ways that I am able to share my love of fall with him and it gives us another opportunity to bond. Luckily, he still puts up with my shenanigans and has already shown signs of excitement.
Nature Walk
I have been thinking a lot about my next big physical goal lately and I keep coming back to walking. Distance walking has always been a challenge for me (check out this post for more information about my physical journey) and yet, there has always been a small part of me that has wanted to complete a hike or even walk a 5k. To start working towards those goals, I am challenging myself to go on a nature walk this month.
Haunted Adventure
Now that its officially spooky season, I plan on finding away to get spooked! Whether it be a haunted house (or 3), haunted hayride, movie marathon, or theme park, I am looking for a good scare. Feel free to leave me your suggestions!
Try New Pumpkin Recipes
I have tried quite a few pumpkin items and recipes in my day, and I am always looking for more. Some of my favorite pumpkin recipes can be found in this post, but I am thinking that it is time for an updated pumpkin favorites recipe post. Hoping to add another solid pumpkin recipe to the list!
This month, I am hoping to incorporate balance into my life by fully embracing my best fall self (again) and living life with intention.
