December always feels a bit like a whirlwind. The holiday season is in full swing, and if you are like me, you were trying to get as much out of it as possible. You want to squeeze in all of the holiday activities, family and friend time, Christmas movies, eggnog, and Christmas sweaters. If you are a blogger during this time of year, there is also a lot of pressure to always be on. There is an explosion of content creation and deal sharing which can feel a little overwhelming–even if you’re just a spectator. Last year, I mostly opted out of the season, but I am proud of everything that I was able to do this year, both personally and blog related.
Here are my other reflections for the month of December:
One
If you didn’t make it to Enchant Christmas in December, are you even a DC Millenial? I was so honored to be chosen as an Enchant Ambassador as the attraction came to Nationals’ Park for the first time (ever!) this holiday season. I was able to visit a couple of times and each experience was completely different. On Christmas Eve, I went with my family and we had a race to see who could find all of the reindeer first. We split our crew up into a kid team and parent team and took off. Of course, the kids were victorious! I can’t wait to see if Enchant returns to the area next year and what new surprises are in store. Click here to see a glimpse of Enchant Christmas DC.

This month I crossed another item off of my 30 before 30 Bucket List—I went ax throwing! The gym crew and I made an outing to the Bad Axe in Mosaic for zombie apocalypse training and a little bonding. I’m always reminded of how grateful I am to have these people in my life both inside and outside of the gym. We’re a great support system for each other and we push each other to go further than we think we can go. That…and we’re all pretty competitive. It was no surprise that our adventure turned into a friendly competition. Though I was really nervous to throw the ax (have you seen the BOUNCE BACK horror stories!?!?) I was actually surprisingly ok at it (once Jeanine reminded me to keep my elbows in haha). To see our ax throwing adventure in action, check out this YouTube video!

For New Year’s Eve, I co-hosted a Roaring 20’s themed/ 2020 Goals party with my besties and a Cunningham brother. It turned out to be everything that we wanted it to be! Joseph did a great job with the decor and organizing the food (black-eyed peas were on the menu of course). I even got to pull out my hidden talent to create some signs. Though I was worried about whether people would be on theme, EVERYONE showed up in their best flapper and 20s attire. We made sure to toast to a New Year, celebrate a birthday, and speak some of 2020 goals into existence. It was a great group to start the new year with.
This month I completed 5 out of 6 items on my December Bucket List. Completing my bucket list and taking on new challenges was a great way to end 2019.
