Hey Ambitious Fam! While June was certainly another emotional month, I am thankful for all of the opportunities and growth that came with it. I truly wonder what it is going to be like to look back on this period of history. How will we articulate both the experiences that we’ve all had as a collective and separately to future generations? Though I long for a month that is less emotionally heavy, I continue to hope that through this strife we can all evolve into people who are better than we were yesterday. As we embark on a new month, I hope that we all continue to listen, learn, speak up, and take action. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but we all can do our part to make this world a better place.
Here are my other reflections for the month of June:
One
This month I committed to making sure that I am doing more and sharing more when it comes to race relations and my experience as a Black woman. Honestly, it’s been both a relieving and taxing at the same time. It’s uncomfortable yet freeing. Most of this initiative has manifested on Instagram and it has sparked some great conversations. I plan to continue sharing resources, stories, and Black businesses to support.
Two
Taking time to declutter my email inbox has been so rewarding! It has made me evaluate the thousands of promotional lists that I am on and either cut them out completely or reduce their frequency. Previously, I just automatically delete those types of emails unopened. Why am I even receiving them if I don’t plan to look at them!? Though it has taken some time upfront, I feel like this is going to save me time down the road. Maybe it will make me think twice before I subscribe to another store list!
Three
I recently realized that I have officially surpassed my one-month big chopiversary! While I plan on posting more about my hair journey soon (wink wink), I will say that I have had a lot of fun experimenting with different styles and accessories! Below are a couple of looks that I tried in June. I’m definitely more comfortable with my hair length and texture now which was the point of this bucket list item. Success!

This month I completed 5ish out of 6 of the items on my June Bucket List. Only giving myself partial credit for paint by numbers, I still have quite a bit to go!
