April 2021 Wrap Up

May 3, 2021 · In: Lifestyle

Hey, Ambitious Fam! Now that people are getting vaccinated and the country continues to open up more, time seems to be moving quickly. I can’t believe that we’re almost halfway through 2021 already! Here is a look back at April, including the 4Ls reflection tool that I started using in January’s Wrap Up post. You can also check out this video on Instagram for a glimpse of my One Second Every Day of April!

In April I…

liked getting to spend quality time with my family and my bestie for the first time in a LONG time.

learned what a tire key is…won’t be losing that again haha.

lacked reading time or the motivation to read.

longed for air conditioning…there have been some incredibly hot days.

Here are my other reflections for the month of April:

One

My sister and I started a walking club this month as a way to hold each other accountable. One of our walks consisted of visiting the mini Washington Monument replica in Alexandria. It was pretty cool to see it in person! We went on a beautiful evening and we had a great view of all of the sailboats on the Potomac River. There was also an interesting exhibit on the other side of the walkway of a deconstructed statue. I definitely recommend it as a walking route if you are in the area!

Two

One of my goals this month was to try my hand at growing a consumable plant. I picked up two varieties of mint (spearmint and chocolate mint) from Nalls Produce. My thought process for choosing mint for my herb attempt was that it would be nice to make tea with. I haven’t killed it yet–so far, so good!

Three

I started a puzzle! My siblings got me a 300 piece Hogwarts House Crests puzzle for Christmas and I finally popped it open as a way to unplug. I’m not finished yet, but it was a fun way to occupy my mind and hands outside of technology.

This month I completed 3 out of 6 of the items on my April Bucket List. I decided to push “Fried Chicken Fridays” to May and honestly, I’m not sure when those home projects are going to get done (yikes).

Stay tuned for my May Bucket List!

Now Spinning: New Edition “Candy Girl” Takin Now Spinning: New Edition “Candy Girl”

Taking it back to 1983 with today’s vinyl. I shared in my February bucket list post that I wanted to listen to some ~vintage~ vinyls that my mom shared from her collection. She saved 5 from her youth mostly from her favorite group: New Edition.

Thinking about making this a mini series this month as I listen through them!

Heart-shaped vinyl!?! Capitalism really popped off Heart-shaped vinyl!?! Capitalism really popped off with this one 🥹

The best month of the year starts tomorrow and this might be my song of the month (for more reasons than one…but more on that later 😉). Shoutout to the JoBros for getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday and happy almost February ❤️

Fridays are for Fun Coffee ☕️ Cookie Butter La Fridays are for Fun Coffee ☕️ Cookie Butter Latte

This week has been RELENTLESS and it’s still going. Trying out a new coffee recipe makes things a little more bearable 😅.

Is cookie butter your jam? Then this recipe is for you! If you’re like me, look for a to-go pack (I found mine at Target) if you just want to fulfill your curiosity. Cheers!
