Hey, Ambitious Fam! Another month has come to an end and I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks saying goodbye to summer. That meant throwing on my rainbow dress, eating lots and lots of ice cream, having my favorite summer salad from Panera (the Strawberry Poppyseed!), and living in my summer uniform. Let’s get into my 4Ls of the month:
In August I…
liked spending some time with my family, including a visit from my New Orleans peeps.
learned how quickly life can change and to embrace some of the changes headed my way.
lacked concentration–definitely felt a little scattered this month.
longed for July’s optimism. My anxiety around the resurgence of Covid hospitalizations and the severity of the delta variant definitely clouded my outlook.
Here are my other reflections for the month of August:
One
I mentioned my summer reading in my latest Friday Feels post, but I officially finished People We Meet on Vacation and it was SO GOOD!! Definitely gets a 5-star review from me and I can add it to my pile of great romance reads for the year. I am about halfway through the last book on my summer reading list, Seven Days in June, and it is also living up to the hype.
Two
This month I started the Do One Thing Challenge in an effort to pull myself out of the rut that I have been in. I explained it in more detail in this YouTube video, but the basic premise of the challenge was to commit to tackling one thing on my overwhelming list every day. On lower energy days, I could opt to donate an item (which ultimately contributed to my goal of decluttering). Here to report back that it seems to be working! It has definitely been helping me gain momentum and finally get to the tasks that I have been putting off for so long. I actually plan on continuing the challenge into next month as well!
Three
Pumpkin Spice Latte season has commenced and I definitely headed to Starbucks on August 24th when all of the fall flavors were released. Needless to say, I have been enjoying pumpkin-flavored coffee beverages ever since. In celebration of the season (and the shop’s 6 monthiversary!), I released my first round of fall products on Ambitiously You! Head to the shop to check out the 6 new fall mug designs for the days that you are enjoying your pumpkin spice coffee at home.
This month was a little weird because I didn’t actually post an August bucket list (thank again, website crash). If you’re interested in a 30-second video wrap-up of the month, I shared my One Second Every Day of August on Instagram!
