Hey, Ambitious Fam! I spent the end of last month celebrating the last moments of summer because a new season is upon us. If you’re a relatively new member of the Ambitious Fam, first of all, welcome–thank you for visiting this corner of the internet. Secondly, I feel like it’s my duty to warn you that I go ALL IN FOR FALL. Stay tuned for all of the fall content to come in the next couple of months because I fully intend on embracing and savoring every moment.
Here is how I am growing this September:
Celebrate Fall
My favorite season is almost officially here and I am so excited for all of the little joyful moments that will bring! I can’t wait to watch all of the leaves start turning vibrant shades of oranges, reds, yellows, and all of the shades in between. I’m beyond thrilled for another year of pumpkin mania and crisp morning air. This season, though it can be hectic with fall activities, has always served as a reminder to savor life’s simple pleasures and I can’t wait to dive in. This year, in particular, I want to start embracing the hygge lifestyle and the fall is the perfect time to do so. Celebrating the first day of fall with some pumpkin waffles and the return of the pumpkin waffle maker!
Donut Days
Speaking of fall-flavored foods, Krispy Kreme has stepped its game up this season! For three weeks in September (starting last week) they have been featuring limited-edition fall donuts. During the first week, they offered flavors that debuted last year: Pumpkin Spice Glaze, Pumpkin Spice Glaze with Cheese Cake filling, and a Pumpkin Spice Cake Donut. They are finishing the month by offering new flavors: Apple Cider Glaze and Maple Glaze. The kicker–each flavor is only available for a week! The marketing director for this campaign deserves a raise because they definitely pulled me in. This month I will be observing donut days where I will visit Krispy Kreme each week to try the fall flavors. Like I said–it’s the little things.
Repot Plants
I mentioned in my updated plant tour video that there is some repotting (and potting) that I have been neglecting this summer. Adding spending some quality time with the plants to this month’s bucket list! It’s going to be a big month for the plant babies, so I want to make sure that they are comfortable.
Refined Society Book Club
While I have been enjoying the antiracism book club that I have been participating in, it is always fun to pop into another! This month I was invited to talk about creativity in work and real-life by the hosts of the Refined Society Book Club and I jumped at the opportunity! I will be on a panel with a couple of other creative and bookish ladies to discuss the topic along with the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I am almost finished with the book (CEO of finishing book club assignments at the last second) but I can’t wait to hear and participate in the virtual discussion.
Do One Thing Challenge
The #DoOneThingChallenge started off as a way to pull myself out of a mental health-induced rut (more details in this video, condensed video here). In my August Wrap-Up post, I mentioned that it really has been helpful in allowing for momentum in decluttering and crossing off tasks on my “things I have been avoiding” list. This month, I plan to continue the challenge to do one thing off of my list (or declutter) each day.
Try a New Recipe
I have been in a bit of a cooking rut, but I would love to get a few more easy recipes in my arsenal for my mid-level energy days! This month I am committing to preparing a new recipe–I’ll let yall know how it goes!
This month, I am continuing to ride the momentum of the Do One Thing Challenge and celebrating the start of a new season.
