Hey, Ambitious Fam! November is such an underrated month–and I’m not just saying that because Christmas seems to start as soon as the clock strikes midnight. November has its own form of magic. Fall is in full effect with the brilliant leaves still changing and drifting around like nature’s own confetti. It’s a month of gratitude for all of the blessings received throughout the year. Sweater weather is here to stay and it’s back to cozy vibes everywhere. It is also the kickoff to the holiday season and the start of one of my happy glimmers–string lights EVERYWHERE. I hope that you find time this month to be present in November’s simple pleasure so that you can experience its magic too 🙂
Here is how I am growing this November:
Holiday Markets
Even though I like to live in my fall happy place for well into the month, there is no denying that the holiday season is rapidly approaching! I try to shop small as much as possible and will be using holiday markets as a way to find gifts for loved ones. This month I will also be participating in a holiday market with Ambitiously You! Mark your calendars for the Alexandria Makers Market on Saturday, November 27th (SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY). Details below!

Make-Your-Own Night
My friends and I are so busy that we often have to plan our get-togethers well in advance. In October we locked in a date to have a Make-Your-Own Pizza and wine night together. May or may not have gotten the idea from TikTok, but we thought that it would be a fun activity to do together especially after not seeing each other for months. We decided to add a feel-good movie to the mix for the perfect lowkey night. If you are able to safely gather with a couple of friends, I definitely recommend it!
Explore Local Bike Paths
The weather may be getting colder, but I am now a proud owner of a bike and I can’t wait to use it! I’m fortunate to live in an area with many scenic bike trails so I’m hoping to explore a trial or too before it gets too frigid outside.
New Craft for Fun
When is the last time you crafted for fun? I love utilizing my creativity (and hands) in new ways, especially if it can pull me away from the screens. In November I want to spend some time trying out a new craft! Currently, I have my eye on a few crochet patterns–I have attempted crochet in the past (like freshman year of college) but I am definitely still a novice. But who knows, I may decide to do something completely different!
Try a Wake-Up Light
Daylight savings got you down? Same, friend, same. On one of our recent episodes of Virtually Best Friends Pod, Caitlin and I discussed a couple of ways to cater to our mental health in the fall–especially with there being fewer hours of daylight. Caitlin mentioned that she loves her Wake-Up light and I’m so excited to introduce a way to reduce the use of tech in my morning routine. Can’t wait to test out this gentle alarm system!
Enjoy Squash Recipes
We’re well into the season and I have not taken advantage of fall produce (aside from all of the pumpkin flavors, of course!). I’m a fan of squash (particularly butternut and acorn) and I want to put a couple of cozy fall recipes back into rotation.
This month, I am attempting to stay present in the magic of time by embracing the simple pleasure of fall and the return to cozy vibes.
