Hey, Ambitious Fam! Welcome to the best month of the year–FEBRUARY. If you are not an OG member of the Ambitious Fam, you may be wondering what makes the shortest month of the year so great. February is Black History Month and contains Valentine’s Day (or the month of loveeee as I keep referring to it as). It’s also my birthday month AND Ambitiously You’s birthday (the biz turns 1 this year)! I love February because I have a lot to look forward to, all while being surrounded by lots of hearts and pink.
Here is how I am growing this February:
Are you someone that enjoys Valentine’s Day? I view it as an excuse to show a little extra attention to your loved ones as well as show yourself some love too! One of the ways that I’m showing myself some love this month is through self-love Sundays. I’ll be sharing challenges each week on the Ambitiously You Instagram page so that we can grow in our self-love journeys together!
Valentine Themed Treats
One of the best parts of Valentine’s Day celebrations—all of the heart-shaped treats! I plan on celebrating this month by making some new Valentine-inspired recipes and eating as many heart-shaped treats as possible.
Now that 30 is rapidly approaching, it’s time to evaluate some of the items that I wanted to complete on my 30 before 30 Bucket List (more on this soon). To kick off the year of Bucket List adventures, I would like to get a facial for my birthday. I want to learn more about skincare this year, so this item will also allow me to start with a clean slate. If you are in the DMV area and have an aesthetician that you love, let me know in the comments!
Try Press-On Nails
Lately, I have been feeling a little envious of all of the nail art girlies. They have been killing the game and their fun designs have inspired me to try something new too! However, I am a bit weary because while I’ve never done acrylics, I have had experiences with gel and SNS that have left my nails damaged and brittle in the past. When I brought the question to Instagram, the Ambition fam suggested that I try press-on nails. I’ll let y’all know how it goes!
Use a Bidet
New year, new eco-friendly swap! This month I am trying out a bidet for a month to reduce my carbon footprint and tp usage. Even though I did switch to bamboo toilet paper in 2021 (shout out to Kristen for the REEL tp rec), I think that this will be a nice step towards a more eco-friendly bathroom.
One of my big personal goals this year is to grow plants that I can consume. I decided to start off small (literally) with microgreens! Microgreens are little nutrient-dense plants that you can easily sprinkle on top of your toast, salads, sandwiches, pasta, or anywhere that you might want to add a little green.
This month, I am planning to fully enjoy my favorite month of the year by practicing self-love and working towards some of my personal goals.
