Fall is officially here and I can’t wait to spend another year engaging in fall activities, eating fall foods, embracing cozy season, seeing the leaves change, and spending time outdoors in the crisp autumn air. I have been thinking a lot about how I have approached fall in the past. October is undoubtedly one of my busiest months mainly because I want to cram in as many things as possible. My intention this year is to savor the season. Meaning, that I want to be more intentional about my experiences whether that includes who I share the experiences with, how I schedule them, or maybe a simple reframing of my thinking from one of scarcity (I have to do this all now because I will never be able to again) to one of gratitude (I’m happy that I am able to experience x this year). One of the ways that I am putting this into action is through a fall bucket list. While I am free to experience more than what is on the list, I am allowing this bucket list to be a guide and help prioritize the aspects of the season that I wish to explore this year. Perhaps you can use this as a guide as well or create your own intentions for the season!
Without further ado, here is the 2022 Fall Bucket List:

Create a cozy corner
When colder months are on the horizon, I often think about what will make my home feel more comforting. I have been dreaming up a cozy corner that I want to create in my space that will be great for spending additional time indoors. For example, I have been coveting a particular chair and record player for about a year now and I think that it is about time I bring the vision to fruition!
Visit an Orchard/Farm
Visiting orchards and farms is high on my list of favorite fall activities, so of course, I needed to include it on this year’s fall bucket list! I was disappointed by my lack of visits last year and even my brother noticed. He specifically requested a trip and I love being able to share my love of fall activities with him. Typically, I try to visit a new farm/orchard every year but I think I have my heart set on revisiting one that we explored in the past. Do you have any recommendations for fun farms/orchards in the DMV area?
Experiment with your style
For numerous reasons, I have found my sense of style shifting in the last two years. While I resisted the change at first, I think that I have finally settled at a place where I understand that fashion and style is supposed to be fun and an expression of who you are. This year, I want to step out of my comfort zone and play around with looks that I have admired but was afraid to incorporate into my own wardrobe.
Watch a tv show with fall vibes
Are there tv shows or movies you feel more drawn to this time of year? In the past, I had a tendency to rewatch something like the Vampire Diaries (alt: the Originals) or Gossip Girl once there was a little bit of a chill in the air. Instead of returning to a comfort show, I have decided to shake it up and watch a show that I haven’t really watched before that is classified as having fall vibes. I’m going to let the Ambitious Fam on socials decide on the show, but I have a feeling that I know which one they’ll pick.
Plant a fall garden
Now that my summer plants have officially stopped producing, I can give my full attention to my fall garden. I’m a little behind on getting the plants started because I wanted to wait until I returned from vacation to begin the process (I have been sharing travel vlogs on YouTube by the way if you are interested). That being said, the first frost date for my area is still a ways away and I think that I can still produce some veggies. Fingers crossed!
Eat all the pumpkin!
Of course, I couldn’t end this list without including my love for all things pumpkin. Every year, I indulged in as many pumpkin/fall flavors as I can and I call it pumpkin mania. There are some new Trader Joe’s products that I want to try this year and I already stocked up on a few of my past favorites as well. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
I’ll be kicking off Vlogtober tomorrow on my Instagram, so if you would like to follow along with my fall adventures, keep a look out for them there!
