Hey, Ambitious Fam! Winter’s over, the days are longer, and everything is a bit greener. Allergy season aside, I have welcomed spring back with the energy of greeting an old friend that I haven’t seen in years. I have felt an excitement about the days to come and felt the urge to catch up on everything that fell behind during winter. Spring is still last on my rankings as far as seasons go, but there is something about appreciating where you are and finding beauty in each stage (even if it comes with more sneezes).
Here is what is on my bucket list this May:

Visit a new city
I told myself that I wouldn’t travel as much this year, but once you catch the travel bug it’s hard to stop! I value stepping outside of my bubble to visit new cities both domestically and internationally. It’s helpful to remember that you can still immerse yourself in new experiences, even if it is in your own state/tri-state area. I have great memories from simply getting in my car and driving to a new city for a day or weekend trip! Last May I was in Italy; stay tuned to see which city I end up exploring this month. Instagram will see it first!
Explore a new museum
Even though it’s an activity that I enjoy, I can’t remember the last time that I’ve explored a museum or gallery. There is peace in the wandering and enlightenment to be found in history and art. This month I intend to take in the beauty of a new museum.
Spend time gardening
Gardening season is officially here! Last frost date for my zone usually occurs in early May. This means that most plants can be planted outside, even if they aren’t frost tolerant. While I already added a new plant to the balcony gardens this year, I’m looking forward to growing more plants to harvest throughout this growing season.
Seasonal Wardrobe Shift
File this item under something that I have been putting off for weeks but I hope to finally get to. While a good amount of my clothing works across seasons, I rotate my closet between cool weather and warm weather clothing. It’s fun to rediscover the items that I stored away. I’m excited for some of my warm weather favorites…a little less excited for the cleanup portion.
Picnic with a friend
Though solo picnics are peaceful, I have been wanting to have one with a friend for a while. I love the idea of a picnic because it allows us to slow down and be present while also engaging in one of my favorite activities: eating lolz. I’m ready to enjoy time amongst all of the flowers that April’s showers brought us!
Incorporate more walks
Now that the warmer weather is here to stay, I have been thinking about incorporating more walks back into my routine. It doesn’t take much to reach “more” and my current level, but to quantify it, let’s say that my goal is to walk a half marathon (13 miles) over the course of the month. I’m getting nervous just writing this, mostly because it feels just out of reach making it a great challenge. Wish me luck!
What are you looking forward to most this May? Let me know in the comments!
