…these are the ingredients for the perfect spring dress! With the nice temperatures FINALLY (hopefully) here to stay, I have definitely been in the mood for dresses that match the weather. What’s more spring than gingham and stripes? They’re even more groundbreaking than florals.
This first dress is a navy blue gingham shirt dress from Old Navy. Though it was the print that first caught my eye, what sealed the deal was the flutter sleeves! The dress was under $18 (score!) and also features a tie waist which provides a flattering shape.
Denim jackets are probably my most frequent outerwear choice in the spring. I love how they can transform a look when paired with a dress. This white Lucky Brand denim jacket was a TJ Maxx find. I literally zeroed in on it at the store and when it fit perfectly, I knew it was meant to be! Luckily (ha!), the jacket is also available online for $39.99 (here)!
Unfortunately, it looks like I waited a little too long to post this because this dress is no longer available online. However, there are a lot of other great gingham options available including this tiered dress and this romper! Bonus, Old Navy is currently offering an additional 30% off online and the potential to earn SuperCash.
Ok, this dress from Target features EVERYTHING that I look for in a dress. It’s one-shouldered (love), has ruffle tiers (love!), and has a tie that can be shaped into a bow (LOVE!). It’s flirty and fun, perfect for the season. In addition, the print supports my current obsession with blue striped dresses (I can admit that I have one too many). You can find the dress here for $45!
How darling are the details? I enjoy that the dress features a smaller pinstripe layer both in the tier and in the ruffle of the shoulder. I am much more a one-shoulder kind of girl. All of the allure of an off-the-shoulder look without having to struggle with a strapless bra (WIN).
I actually picked up this last dress from a Tuckernuck warehouse sale in the winter. The weather is finally appropriate enough to break it out! It was actually my first warehouse sale and boy was I in for a treat. I scored this dress for only $15 (if I recall correctly) and I got plenty of other goodies for a great price. Def going to keep my eye out for future sales!
The details on this dress was a huge selling point as well. I adore the inclusion of a ruffled pocket, contrasting collar, and the flare out at the hem. Such a cute twist on a classic shirt dress. I also almost didn’t notice the difference between the stripes! Half of the dress runs horizontally, while the other half is vertically striped (better show below).
My favorite aspect of these dresses is that they each have details that add a fresh twist to a classic print. Don’t be surprised if you see me out and about in a gingham or striped dress this season!
